Puppy Classes

How a puppy is treated in its formative weeks is vital in avoiding many problems which otherwise might be encountered as an adolescent or mature dog. Between 8 and 16 weeks your puppy is most receptive to learning by exposure to all sorts of activities and experiences. This must be handled carefully so that only the "right" lessons are learned and it is during this period that the new or inexperienced owner should also receive careful guidance too.

To help through this vital time Barry Black runs Puppy Classes which provide an opportunity for your new pup to mix with other dogs of all ages in a controlled environment.  Your dog will learn the canine social skills associated with group play in a similar way to that of his wolf ancestors.

Puppy classes are held on Wednesday evenings at Leybourne from 7.30 to 8.30.

The age for enrolment depends on your vet’s guidance about vaccinations.

Puppies are encouraged to socialise with all age groups because in a natural way this would be so.

Progress through the classes depends on merit and successful dogs and handlers will be promoted to the next level.
